Appointments

Mondays to Thursdays:  8:30am to 4:30pm
Fridays:  9:00am to 3:00pm

A GP referral is recommended for your consultations.  Along with providing necessary patient history, referrals also allow patients to claim the maximum rebate from Medicare for their consultations.  GP referrals are valid for 12 months and specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.

Initial consultations are approximately 1 hour in duration.  Follow up visits are generally 15-20 minutes.

For obstetrics patients:
antenatal appointments are ideally arranged at your initial consultation for a regular time and day that suits you.  This schedule is then forwarded to you so that you can keep your dates handy!

I perform surgical procedures, as required, at the Wesley Hospital.  The theatre list is currently on Wednesday afternoons.  My staff will provide you with information on hospital admission and a financial quote for your procedure.

Important Information regarding our fees

As this is a private specialist practice, there is an out-of-pocket cost for consultations.  Accounts are payable on the day of consultation.

We prefer payment by credit card, eftpos or cheque.

For your convenience we have Medicare Online Claiming facilities available.  If you have not already done so, please contact Medicare and inform them of your bank account details for convenient, prompt reimbursement.

We also recommend you register for the Medicare Safety Net by visiting the Medicare website www.medicareaustralia.gov.au   If you are eligible for the Medicare Safety Net this may provide you with additional rebates for your out-of-pocket costs for out-of-hospital services for the calendar year.

Private Health Insurance, which includes hospital cover, is preferable if you are requiring an operation.  When a procedure is booked we will provide you with a quote for our fees and ask for a deposit and confirmation one week prior to your operation.   This deposit is deducted from your Invoice.

Additional fees may be incurred when patients are referred to pathology, ultrasound specialists or other health care providers.  These fees are separate to our fees and remain the responsibility of the patient.

Obstetric fees

My staff are happy to provide you with our fee structure for my Obstetric services.

Antenatal visits will be billed at the time of consultations.

Delivery Fees will be billed directly to your Private Health fund with no cost to you.  If however you are uninsured, Delivery Fees will apply.

Please also consider the possibility of requiring an Anaesthetist for a Caesarian Section. A Paediatrician will also be assigned to you at delivery to care for your baby.  These fees will be billed to you separately.

All obstetrics patients receive a regular US at every visit. In second and third trimester as well 3D US is performed if the baby is in suitable position and the pictures are sent to the patient at the end of the day per email.

Cancellation fees and overdue accounts

For Hospital Procedures please note this practice requires confirmation at least 7 days prior to surgery.  In the event that your procedure is cancelled by you with less than 48hrs notice we charge 10% of the quoted procedure costs.

Regrettably we may at times be called upon to utilise a debt recovery service for overdue accounts which will incur additional costs to patients.
